TRADE TURBO SELF FIT WHIRLPOOL KITS The new whirlpool kits are divided into 2 categorIes - Trade and Diy. They are both the same quality and the same type of components except that the Trade kits are supplied with all components, pump, pipework etc but NO TOOLS OR ADHESIVES. Instructions are downloaded on line from the link below and support is by EMAIL. This provides a high quality package with no frills for the confident installer. We have had many hundreds of DIY installers use our trade kits over the years. The only real requirement is that you are confident to drill the bath and confident with your solvent weld plumbing. WHY SHOULD I BUY A SELF FIT KIT WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY CHEAP SYSTEMS ON THE MARKET TODAY?? Unfortunately all the 'CHEAP' systes are just that - old fashioned poor quality, poor performance "mickey mouse" systems. The sort of thing you buy one day only to realize that it wasn't really worth buying and end up disappointed and hardly ever using it. Cheap systems are also inherently dirty as they use a mass of small bore pipework - very difficult to clean. Almost all the pipewok is sagging, flexible pipework. I HAVE SEEN A VERY KEENLY PRICED SYSTEM WITH A 1.2HP PUMP - MOST OF YOUR KITS ARE ONLY .75HP?? The rating of whirlpool pumps is very spurious and extremely difficult to compare. THE STATED RATING OF A WHIRLPOOL PUMP IS ACTUALLY ONLY THE POWER IT CONSUMES - NOT THE OUTPUT POWER. Generally speaking the worst pumps are the cheap Chinese pumps appearing on the market now. These are very low quality, noisy, low power pumps with a very short life expectancy. You will also find that most whirlpool systems use non compatible fittings - so if you have a dodgy Chinese pump you will almost certainly not be able to replace it. The next quality of pumps are the American pumps. As these are converted from 60cycle 110volt pumps they lose a lot in translation. All 0.9hp and 1.2hp pumps are American and therefore grossly underpowered. As a general guide the output power of an American pump is around half the stated consumption power - so a 1.2 hp pump really only produces about 0.6hp output. As a general guide only the best European pumps made to work on 50cycles 230 volts and not converted, are able to produce an output power which is virtually the same as the power consumption rating.
