We have now introduced 3 levels of delivery service on ebay with regional variations according to destination popularity.

TO CLARIFY
Why is standard delivery 21 days?
a.although you submit your order on a certain date the funds are actually paid to Pay Pal -because of the system it takes between 7 and 10 days to reach us.
b. we deliver over 90% of goods on our own transport so with high fuel costs it is vital tht we group as many deliveries as possible
c. Where we use a carrier we do not use a NORMAL COURIER SERVICE - only a SPECIALIST FRAGILE GOODS SERVICE - this reduces the amount of damage from the approx 20% suffered with normal carriers to a very acceptable 3%. But these specialist carriers have their own agenda and will normally take between 4-7 days to deliver.
d. 21 days is also the minimum time taken to detect fraud - a very signifcant problem in internet sales. Where we offer quicker deliveries we need to undertake special fraud checks to ensure that the orders are genuine - this takes extra time and costs extra money.

THE VARIOUS LEVELS OF SERVICE

FREE or STANDARD DELIVERY

This is expressed as DELIVERY ALLOCATION IS APPROXIMATELY 21 DAYS TO MAINLAND UK WITHIN THE MOTORWAY NETWORK.

This is not a deadline - you should not expect delivery to be EXACTLY 21 DAYS in fact it is the delivery allocation that takes 21 days so you should expect the delivery to be some time after the 21 days. The relevant date is ORDER PROCESSING DATE - I.E. THE DATE ON YOUR INVOICE - NOT THE DATE YOU SUBMIT - this is usually around 48 hours after the order is submitted but can vary as orders are only processed on working days (Mon-Fri)

EBAY STATE -"USUALLY SHIPS WITHIN 15 WORKING DAYS" - 15 working days is exactly 21 calendar days so the statements are virtually the same and mean virtually the same thing - ie you should not expect delivery in less than 21 calendar days - if the goods are shipped within 15 working days by carrier you will see that this will take the extra time to reach the final destination

The time factor is also dependant upon the actual goods

many items are actually produced specifically to order e.g. shower trays, whirlpool baths, many shower enclosures etc. Or they are ordered specifically for the customer's order or they are part of a scheduled stock delivery with stock allocation from deliveries expected on a certain date. Once the order is in place it is very difficult to change the delivery profile

The time factor is very much dependent upon the delivey destination

If you are within the UK Mainland motorway network you can expect delivery to be not much more than 21 days if it is a popular product. Within the motorway network means approx 20 minutes return from a motorway junction. Generally speaking the areas most affected will be East Anglia, West Country, Cumbria and some Scottish deliveries. to ensure we can group deliveries in these ares with the maximum efficiency the APPROX DELIVERY TIME WILL BE 21-28 DAYS

Scottish deliveries - the normal time factor applies but more regularly the Scottish delivery allocation will be 21-28 days. Deliveries within 30mile land distance of key cities are covered by our Free or standard service - GLASGOW, EDINBURGH, DUMFRIES, DUNDEE, PERTH, ABERDEEN . Inverness is usually a special delivery area but will normally be elligible for the Free delivery or standard delivery service, but may take longer. West coast areas North or west of Glasgow are all special considerations. Argyll in paricular towards Campbelltown will not be elligible for the Free or standard service. Although there is a direct road link to the area it is very slow and time consuming so deliveries to these areas are only covered using the ferry links or by specialist or designated carriers.

Highlands and Islands can be serviced using our own specialist carriers or a designated carrier - insurance is strongly recommended.

Irish deliveries, because of the costs involved are naturally extended - approx 28-35 days - but again this is not a deadline or a target merely an approximation

NEW - GUARANTEED DELIVERY SERVICE

This new service has been introduced for a wide range of products and GUARANTEES DELIVERY WITHIN 21 CALENDAR DAYS at a modest surcharge

The relevant starting date in this service is the next working day following order submission

SHOWER ENCLOSURES - guarantee applies to any part of the mainland UK

BATHROOMS SUITES OR SHOWER SUITES - because of the more fragile nature of pottery and baths we usually limit deliveries to our own vehicles. This means that the GUARANTEED DELIVERY can only apply to the UK MOTORWAY NETWORK ( see above)

This service is not normally available for Scottish deliveries except for showers.

EXPRESS DELIVERY SERVICE

our Express Delivery service offers guaranteed delivery within 10 working days at a reasonable surcharge for both showers and suites

the relevant starting date is the next working day following order submission

SHOWER ENCLOSURES - any part of the mainland UK

BATHROOM OR SHOWER SUITES - UK Mainland motorway network only (because of the damage problems Scotland may not be elligible)

This service is not normally available for Scottish deliveries except for showers a surcharge may be applicable

INSPECTING GOODS ON DELIVERY

As most of our goods are delivered on our own vehicle we are rarely affected by product damage and we therefore allow you 24 hours to inspect the goods. One of the reasons we offer this concession is that due to our very intensive timings on the delivery runs we do not have time to wait while the goods are inspected. You will anyway find that examing the goods properly with a relaxed timing is much more satisfactory - for example many shower trays and baths have a plastic film over the entire surface - you cannot inspect these products without removing both the outer covering and the plastic film and this can be very time consuming

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM INSPECTING WITHIN THE TIME LIMITS - please take note of the following

SENSITIVE ITEMS SUCH AS POTTERY AND SHOWER TRAYS MUST BE NOTIFIED WIHTIN THE 24 HOUS

non sensitive items such as shower enclosures will have a less strict liabiltiy as the boxes contain many parts which are individually replacable so the manufacturers give us a little more flexibility
